Recommending Alternatives. Recommending alternatives depends on what exists on the credit report. We coach our clients on paying off collections up to $1,500 for 30% of the value. Collections above $1,500 will be referred to an attorney who, for a fee, will negotiate the collections or have them zeroed out. People who receive subpoenas for credit card debt are also referred to an attorney who, for a fee, will negotiate with the collection agency attorney to bring the claim to settlement. Loan Mitigator. If a Loan Mitigator is needed, they can negotiate with a lender to decrease an existing interest rate. A Loan Mitigator requires a fee, but if it is not successful, that fee will be reimbursed in full.
